YouTube content creators are automatically assigned handles for all channels after November 14, 2022, if they haven't already opted in. However, this can be changed later in YouTube Studio.

YouTube creators can use a handle to direct their audiences to a particular channel.

In the coming weeks, YouTube will slowly introduce the option to select a channel's handle. The handles will be distributed to users who already have a unique handle. They received an email and a notification from the official YouTube studio. Usually, the existing handle that they already have is reserved.

YouTube will assign a handle to your channel, and you can change it in the studio if you want to.
